First Casual Games Portal
I was hand picked to help start the spin-off startup of Macromedia's showcase site Shockrave. I was tasked with leading the QA and design input for their flagship product Shockmachine. This was the first step towards offline gaming and although several of us persistently pushed the opportunity for downloadable games, it wasn't until I left to develop downloadable games that Shockwave.com joined selling downloadable games.
SQA Manager
I led a team of quality assurance engineers in the testing of Shockmachine and the hundreds of games played back within the application. My expierence with team sports helped inspire and instill ownership of my team members leading to a stable and successful launch. I developed test cases, test suites, performance reviews and hiring while under the SQA manager role.
Game Designer
One of my game design prototypes was serendipitously seen by an ex-Pixar exec that had recently become CEO. He proposed creating an internal studio so we could develop it and the game, Tamale Loco, became the first downloadable game sold by Shockwave.com.
